It looks like Sunderland's George Honeyman is wanting to kick off Sunderlands championship campaign by laying down a maker , by beating the rams on the opening day . The match will be live on sky sports . This will be the black cats first game in the championship for 10 years after being relegated from the Premier League last season.
The Black cats are still without a manager after David Moyes parted company with the club in Last month ( may )
Honeyman who signed a new two-year deal at the end of last season, wants his side to signal their intent for the campaign.
"I think we were all hoping to be at home and on television for the opening game of the season," Honeyman told Sunderland's official club website.
"To have the game on the Friday night also adds something and we'll be up against a good Championship club, so it'll be a good test and we hope to lay down a marker for the season.
"It's a quick and testing start to the season because all of the teams we're facing early were up and around the play-off places last year."
