it looks like Derby County could be allowing Derby County striker Darren Bent to leave this summer.. Bent would be open to a return to Ipswich Town, according to one of his former team-mates too.
Bent launched his illustrious career at Ipswich and his one-time Town colleague, Tommy Miller, reckons the Tractors Boys should consider bringing the 33-year-old front man back to Portman Road.
"If there's a deal to be done it could be great for both parties," Miller told the East Anglian Daily Times.
"Darren's obviously got massive pedigree and, even at 33, will still have a lot of goals in him at Championship level. "Strikers like him never lose that knack of scoring goals. He's always been a player that is in the right place at the right time and, nine times out of 10, he will put the ball in the net.
"I know Ipswich is a club very close to his heart and I'm sure he'd be open to a return to Portman Road at this stage in his career."
After making his name at Ipswich, Bent went on to play for Charlton Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and Aston Villa.
The former England international has scored more than 200 goals during his senior career.
Last season, he was Derby's second top scorer behind Tom Ince with 13 in all competitions.
