2 players who will not be flying out to Canary Isles and taking Part in Derby County's Pre-season are Defenders Jason Shackell and Max Lowe . They are both still recovering from injuries.
Centre-half Jason Shackell has been out injured for the past 4 months after being sidelined with a back problem in February,. while left-back Lowe struggled with an abdominal strain towards the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
Both of the players did not take part in training at Moor Farm on Thursday
Derby County manager Gary Rowett said :the following about them :
"Shacks is still in that rehab stage," "He is making good progress but he is still probably two or three weeks away from joining in with the rest of the players.
"Of course, he will be playing a bit of catch-up but he is still doing the physical side of it.
"I think with that one at the moment, the medical team feel they can not rush it."
( On Lowe, ) He has not trained, similar to Shacks. He's not quite there yet, probably a bit ahead of Shacks in terms of being available but, realistically, both of those won't travel to Tenerife, just because we have plenty of fit players. They will stay and do their work here."
Derby County will be spending a week training in Tenerife before playing their first pre-season friendly away to Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday, July 11.
